Short abstract from the book:Turnstone is a common migrant and winter visitor in the Faroes. 26 birds have been ringed, mostly in Nólsoy (22). All have been ringed during the autumn and winter period (2 September - 9 March). Most were ringed as adults. There are three recoveries, all from the ringing site three (2) and ten years after ringing, respectively. Seven birds ringed abroad have been recorded in the Faroes. Five were ringed on the breeding grounds in Canada, one was ringed in Iceland, and one in England. Two birds from Canada have been recovered in the Faroes a few months later during the autumn migration (approx. 2,700 km). Many of the turnstones are recorded several times in the Faroes (G. Morrison; pers. comm.).
