Short abstract from the book:
Razorbill is a breeding bird in the Faroes, with approximately 4,500 breeding pairs. There has been extensive hunting of razorbill in the Faroes, but since 1979 hunting has been permitted only in the winter. This has created a potential bias toward winter recoveries. 64 birds have been ringed in the Faroes, most on Stóra Dímun (33) and mostly as adults (89%). There are 10 recoveries of Faroese ringed razorbills, one of them from abroad. There are a total of 122 recoveries of foreign ringed razorbills from Iceland (95), Great Britain (26) and Russia (1). Most of the foreign ringed recoveries during the breeding season are of British birds (92%).
