Short abstract from the book:
Long-eared owl is a rare migrant and winter visitor in the Faroes. The species has not been ringed in the Faroes but two foreign birds have been recovered. One ringed as an adult on 13 December 1982 on Mainland, Orkney was found on 15 July 1986 in Tvøroyri, Suðuroy, 343 km NW of the ringing site. Another, ringed as a chick on 29 June 1987 in Gävle, N of Uppsala in Sweden, was found dead on 10 November 1987 in Vágur, Suðuroy, 1,293 km W of the ringing site.
