Short abstract from the book:Lesser whitethroat is a rare summer visitor to the Faroes, with two breeding records in Tórshavn. 58 lesser whitethroats have been ringed in the Faroes, the majority in Nólsoy (41) and the rest in Sumba, Suðuroy. The birds have been ringed between 27 April and 20 October, most during peak migration in late May and late September. Of the aged individuals (n=29), 59% were first-year birds and 41% older. None of the birds ringed in the Faroes has been recovered. A bird ringed 9 May 2002 on Isle of May, Scotland, was found dead 3 June 2003 in Sørvágur, Vágar, 708 km NNW of the ringing site.
