Short abstract from the book:Golden plover is a common breeding bird in the Faroes with an estimated population of 600 pairs. 55 golden plovers have been ringed, the first during the Second World War. All have been ringed as chicks between 15 June and 18 August. There are two recoveries, both abroad. One, ringed 20 June 1944, was shot 1 February 1945 in Guernica, Spain, 2,124 km S of the ringing site. The other, ringed 28 June 1945, was shot 15 January 1948 in Tulsk, Ireland, 994 km S of the ringing site. The Faroese breeding population is supposed to winter in West Europe.
