Short abstract from the book:Brambling is a common migrant to the Faroes in spring and autumn, and a sparse summer and winter visitor. There are two breeding records. 88 bramblings have been ringed, with the majority on Nólsoy (85). 27 were ringed in spring (1 February - 5 May), the majority late April, and 61 in autumn (16 September - 1 November), with a peak in late October. No birds ringed in the Faroes have been recovered. A young brambling ringed 30 August 1996 SW of Trondheim, Norway, was recovered 29 September 1996 on Nólsoy, 874 km west of the ringing site, corresponding to an average minimum speed of 29 km/day.
