Short abstract from the book:Black-tailed godwit is a rare breeding bird in the Faroes, with 1-3 breeding pairs. Four birds have been ringed, all on Sandoy. None of the black-tailed godwit ringed in the Faroes have been recovered. A bird colour-ringed 3 May 2003 in Álftafjörður in eastern Iceland, was seen in Northern Ireland in the following winter and spring, and was later seen 29 March 2004 in southern Norway and on 9 June 2004 in Vestmanna, Streymoy. After nine days it was seen in Dee Estuary, northwest England. Another black-tailed godwit ringed on 21 June 2004 in Holt, northwest Iceland was seen on 29-30 August 2004 in Sandur, Sandoy. Since then it was seen in 2005 in Iceland, Portugal and Ireland.
