Short abstract from the book:
Water rail is a rare migratory and winter visitor in the Faroes. Williamson provides the only notes of a breeding record in Nólsoy. Four water rails have been ringed in the Faroes, all on Nólsoy. The birds were ringed in 1935 (1), 1994 (2) and 1995 (1), all in late autumn (28 October - 7 November). There is only one recovery, a bird ringed as a young on 3 August 1990 in Dragstrup, Denmark, and found dead on 8 October 1990 in Tórshavn, 1,043 km NW of the ringing site.
