Short abstract from the book:
About 1,000 pairs of Leach’s storm petrel breed in the Faroes, almost all at Mykines and Mykineshólmur. 3,328 Leach’s storm petrels have been ringed in the Faroes, mostly on Mykineshólmur (2.440) and Mykines (857). The first Leach’s storm petrel was ringed during the Second World War, but most birds have been ringed during the 1960s. There are 78 recoveries, but none from abroad. 97% of the recoveries were made at the ringing site after 1-18 years. The rest were recovered within 4 km of the ringing site. Three individuals have been controlled on more than one occasion. Recoveries are from 10 May to 23 August, with most in July. Three birds ringed in Britain on St. Kilda, North Rona and Foula, respectively, have been recovered in the Faroes. The two longest-living birds recovered were both over 18 years old.
