Short abstract from the book:
Lapwing is a rare breeding bird in the Faroes, with only 2-5 pairs. The population has declined over the last decades. Six have been ringed, four in 1995 in Søltuvík, Sandoy, and two in 1953 in Tórshavn. None has been recovered. A lapwing ringed 7 June 1981 near Baleshare, Outer Hebrides was killed four years later after colliding with wires in Sandur, Sandoy, 485 km N of the ringing site.
