Short abstract from the book:
Common gull is a common breeding bird in the Faroes with approximately 1,000 pairs, and is also a common migratory and winter visitor. 107 common gulls have been ringed, most of them on Glyvursnes, Streymoy (72). Most were ringed in June (58) and July (44), and 90% were ringed as chicks. Six birds have been recovered, all within 6 km of their ringing site. A 3rd-calendar-year bird was ringed 17 May 1987 on Nólsoy and found injured 10 July 1998 in Tórshavn, 6 km NW of the ringing site. Seven common gulls ringed abroad have been recovered in the Faroes, two ringed in Scotland, two in Iceland, one in Åland, Finland, one in Norway and one with a Rositten ring (probably from the former East Prussia).
